Upright spreading shrub with dark green multi-lobed foliage and clusters of flowers with notched lobes, followed by egg shaped yellow-orange berries.
Fast growing and short lived. Pioneer plant that regenerates after fires and in cleared areas.
Indigenous name: MOOKITCH (Gunditjmara)
An important food, but fruit was only eaten when very ripe. It is poisonous at other times.
