Fast growing open tree with waxy new growth, and yellow flowers followed by flattened seed pods.
Use as a fast growing screen in moist areas. Can suffer borer attack. Tends to be smaller in drier conditions.
Indigenous name: MUYAN (Wurundjeri)
Wood used to make stone axe handles. Gum dissolved in water to make a mild sweet drink, and also mixed with ash for use as a resin.
