Upright perennial herb. Submergent and emergent foliage different. Aquatic to 1m or semi-aquatic in swamps and mud, and still to slow-flowing streams.
Interesting plant for ponds and muddy to wet areas, and an excellent oxygenator in water that can handle drying soil over summer.
